I imagine that you can only get one once you unlock all the pets or something.

EDIT:Nvm, you can buy one from the keeper for 50k balth or 5 gold zcoins + 100g

So? They were never that hard to get. I don't mind that I got mine the regular way and now people can buy em.

You can only buy with balth faction or the z coins though. The 10 dollar pet unlock doesn't unlock black moa, black widow, imperial phoenix, rainbow phoenix, or anything.

wouldnt that mean you would have to be able to have 50,000 balth on you at the time. Hardly anyone has a cap that high, so no worries that way. Buy your gold zcoins while you can.

i think this pet randomly spawns in a zone

i saw cobwebs in a corner of the map i hadnt noticed (Bjora Marches), but no spider. maybe it was a possible spawn location

Nah. Shadow has one. She should give a quest around al Tyria, Cantha, Elona and the North to get and hatch a moss spider egg or something like that.
Like a mix between MOX quests, Black Moa quests and Zho Black moa chicken quests, but finishing in the Menagerie so once you unlock it you can't party with people so they get it.

Otherwise getting it would suck the big deal.

The wanderer guy gave me an egg for one through one of his gift bags, i dont know of anyone else who has gotten one, but here is a picture of me with the moss spider

So far the only way's to get the moss spider egg are from the traveler, and from the faction reward/z coin purchase. My wife received one from the traveler. You take it, give it to the Emryn or whatever his name is, in the Menagerie. Then they spawn in the area where the spider webbs are. I have heard they are worth a ton though, we'll have to wait and see when the event is over how many were given out. That will give a real value. So tough choice if you've got one to hold or sell now. I have heard one went for 12 figures...not sure if its true or not.

I wonder, can anyone else go into your menagerie with you? Like they can in the Hall of Monuments? (At work so can't log in and check yet.)

And if they can, can they charm one of the pets you summon from the trainer?

If this is possible, I can foresee "Charm elder moss spider, 500g" being spammed in the menagerie outpost.

Since the menagerie is account wide....

Create a pre-searing ranger. Cap a spider. Get to Balthazar, Unleash it in your menagerie. Log on Main. Cap spider. Train to hearty to unlock all, re-release it.

There. Done deal.

(I have not tried the above, but all evidence points to it working just fine.)

Except you can't charm a moss spider in Pre.
